Socks – Cosy

It is that time of year again. I have made a pair of socks for a friend. They are a Christmas Present. This was fun to knit, but took too long. Changing the colours made the process longer, normally I can make these in a day; however, these took two weeks. I think that only knitting in the evenings is slowing me down. I used to knit every day on the train and made tonnes of FO (finished objects), but now I seem to get them done in weeks!

I guess i have to accept that a shorter commute using a car is the bonus and the lost 2 hours of knitting everyday is the price. It is either 3 hours to my old place of work for a round trip or 20 to 30 minutes to my new place. I defiantly choose the latter.

BBC News - Guerilla knitters target Launceston with their art

This morning I saw a BBC news article on Yarn Bombing. It seems that Launceston (pronounced Lawn-ston) has undergone an creative brighten up from 'Craftivists'.

Lamposts, signposts and benches have been covered in temporary knitting graffiti.

To quote the BBC: the police community support officer ... said it was doing no harm and the police had no plans to hunt down the culprit.

I kind of like this creative 'graffiti'. It is not permanent, it can be taken down easily.
